This special program is part of our VA250 celebrations, and will bring research to life through a culinary history event. The first half will feature a talk by author, Damon Lee Fowler, exploring 18th century culinary traditions at homes like Battersea, drawing directly from original recipes that were once stored in the kitchen building. Guests will learn about historic cooking practices and translated recipes that reveal how food was planned, prepared, and presented. Following the lecture, attendees will enjoy tastings inspired by these historic recipes with the opportunity for discussion and Q&A.
Tickets for this event are FREE, but must be purchased by 11:59pm on Wednesday March 18th. You MUST purchase a ticket to attend as a headcount is necessary for catering this event and providing seating.
Please note: This event is scheduled to be held outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, we ask that you visit our website to check for a venue change or rain date.
