Annual Battle of Petersburg Re-Enactment Weekend


Join us at Battersea as we host the annual Re-Enactment of the Battle of Petersburg during a special year of commemoration for America’s 250th. In line with this year’s celebrations, we’ve added some new programming and events that we are excited to share.

Saturday April 18th

10:00am          Event Opens to the Public - Opening Remarks, Prayers and DAR Wreath Laying Dedication

11:00am         Cannon Demonstration

Lunch Break

1:30pm          Battle of Harlem Heights

2:00pm            Tag, Rag, and Bobtail: Women of the Army

3:00pm            Period Dance Demonstration 

4:00pm            Site Closes to Public


Sunday April 19th

10:00am          Event Opens to the Public

11:00am         Camp Life Activities

1:00pm          Battle of Petersburg

2:00pm            Site Closes to the Public

 

Event FAQ’s

  • No tickets are required for this event. Show up for a half day or both days!

  • Battersea will open at 10 am to the public. Please note: Gates will close 15 minutes prior to battle demonstrations for safety.

  • Guests will be able to park on the property across from the front gate of Battersea. Please note that this requires walking approximately 100ft from the gate to the house. We also encourage people to park at the Visitor Center and use the trolleys available for bringing people to Battersea.

  • A food truck will be on site with concessions for purchase

  • Yes, restrooms are available on site.
