Whether you are planning a summer, spring, fall, or winter wedding, you will experience an unusual and dramatic setting when you choose the Battersea Mansion for your event. Located in historic Petersburg, Battersea’s 37 acres of rolling lawns and forests offer the perfect setting for your one-of-a-kind wedding. Framed by beautiful vistas, this colonial estate can accommodate any event, from the intimate ceremony to the grand affair.
We also recognize the importance of supporting brides who want to secure every detail themselves. For you, we have a list of local vendors and service providers that can assist you in creating the ceremony of your dreams. Offering a wedding dress franchise can also be provided upon request.

Your Wedding at Battersea includes:
Exclusive use of the historic Battersea villa (if selected) and the outdoor estate grounds during the selected rental period for preparation, ceremony, social/cocktail hour and reception
8 hours of rental time for weddings or 4 hours for receptions and rehearsal dinners
Private getting-ready rooms in the villa (if selected)
Chairs and tables (20 x 6’ round, 8 x 8’ banquet, and10 x 6’ folding banquet) for up to 150 guests (additional rental fee)
Guidance and expertise of our planning team, as well as rehearsal and day-of coordination
Parking and grounds attendants to assist wedding guests
· Parking for up to 150 vehicles
· A one-hour rehearsal prior to the wedding day
· Use of the villa and grounds for portraits prior to the wedding day
Pricing:
Battersea is a unique historical setting designated as a Virginia Historic Landmark and in the National Register of Historic Places. The villa constructed in 1768 provides an opportunity to hold an intimate affair of up to 50 guests while the front lawn can accommodate up to 500 guests. Rental fees of the Battersea villa and/or estate grounds depend on what the bride and groom’s plans are, whether a smaller, intimate affair in the villa or a more elaborate wedding using both the villa and front lawn. The fees start at $3,000.

A: The Foundation will secure your date upon a signed agreement and 25% payment of the location cost selected. We will accept personal checks, cashier’s checks, cash, debit cards and credit cards (with 3.5% fee). The Foundation will then invoice you for the remaining amounts outlined in a payment schedule providing you time to cover the rental fee.

A: We are able to host your wedding any day of the week. However, realizing Saturdays and Sundays are the most popular days, we urge you to reserve your date promptly. Only one wedding will be scheduled per day, nor will any other activity take place during your event.

A: The Foundation will set up those tables and chairs if rented from it in coordination with the caterer and wedding planner. Should you decide to rent from another source, that entity must set them up. Please note the Foundation does not provide refrigeration, ice, dance flooring, or tents.

A: The Foundation will make every effort to host your ceremony outdoors if desired. However, we cannot control Mother Nature and will work with you to reschedule within certain limitations. Any change in plans due to forecasted inclement weather will go into effect three hours prior to the ceremony.
